How St. Luke’s Employees Are Eating Healthier at Work—One Farm CSA Share at a Time

What if your workplace wellness program delivered fresh, organically grown vegetables right to your job?

At St. Luke’s University Health Network, that’s exactly what’s happening. Thanks to a partnership with Willow Haven Farm and the Employee Wellness team, employees at the Bethlehem, Miner’s, Lehighton, and Carbon campuses receive a weekly bag of local vegetables and fruit from June through October.

It’s a simple, powerful way to support healthy eating at work—and it’s still open for new members.

CSA Member Tips: How to Make It Work for You

Get the most out of your CSA experience with these simple strategies from experienced members:

  • Read the weekly email for veggie descriptions, tips, and recipes

  • Download the WHF A to Z Vegetable Handbook for storage and prep help

  • Prep your veggies the same night you get them

  • Want to Keep Lettuce Fresh for 10+ days? Read our article here.
You’ll learn to wash, spin, and store your lettuce properly

  • Eat the greens first—they spoil fastest

  • Freeze anything you won’t use this week

  • Check your bag right away and plan meals around what’s fresh

  • Email Tessa,  the farm wife at Willow Haven Farm, with any questions

What’s in the CSA share bag?

Each week, members receive a variety of farm-fresh vegetables and local fruit grown with care.

One week might include kale, garlic scapes, and snap peas.

Another week: zucchini, herbs, and strawberries.

It’s real food, picked fresh, grown for your health—and delivered to your workplace.

Why It Matters for Workplace Wellness

This CSA program is part of St. Luke’s broader wellness strategy to make healthy living practical and accessible. Employees say the weekly deliveries help them:

  • Eat more vegetables
  • Skip the grocery store and avoid junk food
  • Involve their kids in healthy eating
  • Feel more energized at work
  • Enjoy cooking again

Healthy eating at work starts with what you bring home—and this program makes that easier than ever.
